Background
Hailing from the North of Boston, Ben Whitman is a simple country boy with big city
dreams. After graduating from Middlesex School in Concord, MA, Ben went to Connecticut
College where he began his film career and founded Manwhit Entertainment in 2001. After
several collaborations with Winslow Porter and Sandstone Pictures,
including Love Twitch and Moods of Krakauer, Ben broke out on his own,
directing such films as Deconstructing 1986 and Aasics. After working for
VH1's Pop-Up Video in the Summer of 2002, Ben transferred to Davidson College in
North Carolina, where he has continued to write and direct. In the summer of 2003, Ben
went to Los Angeles to work for acclaimed Director/Producer Joel Gallen and
Tenth Planet Productions.
Since its conception in 2001, Manwhit Entertainment has been involved
in writing, producing, and directing short comedy films. Most recently, Manwhit
released Generation Tab, a documentary dedicated to Tab drinkers
worldwide. Manwhit briefly joined forces with Davidson College Productions in 2004.
As of 2006 he is working in Wyoming, documenting extreme skiing.
